Safety is your first priority when you are out on the road. You should care about your own safety and the safety of those around you. If you happen to come upon someone who is out on a bicycle on the road what should you do? There are a few things to bare in mind about this.

Give them a safe amount of distance. You are required by law in most areas to give at least four feet of separation between your vehicle and a bicycle. That is considered to be just enough space to keep everyone safe.

Slow down. Reducing speed when you are out on the road and see a bicycle is always a good idea. It gives more reaction time to everyone involved. Finally, yield to bicyclists. Treat those on a bike the same way that you would someone walking on a public road. You should yield to bicyclists just like you would a pedestrian to make things safe.
